Learning at Home

At the Croft Primary School, we place a high value on the importance opf home and school working in partnership. As part of this pupils are set home learning to support with their in-school learning.

What does this look like?

All pupils receive a home reading book which they are encourage to read at least 3 times a week at home and record in their home reading journal. Re-reading a text helps to build fluency, confidence and expression!

All pupils recieve a TT Rockstars login to help them with their timestable practice.

Pupils in KS1 and KS2 receive a spelling list each week to practice important spelling patterns for their year group.

Some pupils may have zappers to help with additional reading and spelling words - you will be informed if your child has a zapper sheet.

All pupils in KS1 and KS2 will recieve a homework book. Each half term a table of different acitivities will be shared through the homework book. Each week pupils can choose one of these acitivities to complete. This helps develop their independce, make homework engaging but also helps to build good home learning practices in preperation for secondary school and beyond.
