At The Croft Primary School, our curriculum is about develping the whole child and nurturing them so that they belong, thrieve and achieve well. We prioritse well-being and promote ways to teach emotional literacy and self-care. We work closely with families and our wider community to ensure that our school community has the tools and support it needs to feel safe, happy and well.

In school, our comprehensive PSHE and RSHE curriculum and interventions such as nurture, ELSA, lego therapy, play therapy and dough therapy supports the children along with our school ethos... we are caring, we are courageous, we are creative... we are the Croft community.

Our families know that we are here to support them and that we will always offer a listening ear and support. We send out regualr well-being updates and resources to support families at home and work closely with external agencies to ensure a comprehensive offer for our pupils.

We are part of the ARC community.

We understand that young people today may face increasing mental health challenges, and finding trusted, effective support can at times feel overwhelming. Staffordshire County Council has developed the Young Person’s Mental Health (YPMH) section within the Staffordshire Health App Finder. https:// www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Health-wellbeing-and-leisure/Keeping-well-and-staying-healthy/ Search-for-health-and-wellbeing-apps.aspx

It is a free digital tool that young people and their parents can use to find expert-reviewed mental health apps for example:

Move Mood is an app developed for teenage mental health charity stem4 by Dr Nihara Krause, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, and uses the evidence-based treatment Behavioural Activation Therapy to help you improve your mood by encouraging you to increase your motivation to carry out a variety of tasks in order to help you to move forward, take control and feel positive.

You can personalise the app by selecting a companion and you will be able to track your progress and notice change.

Smiling Mind is a mental fitness toolkit. Designed for minds of all ages and stages, the new Smiling Mind App helps you learn the skills that promote mental wellbeing and create the habits to thrive.
