The R.E Curriculum at The Croft Primary School: The R.E Curriculum follows The Staffordshire Agreed Syllabus for religious Education.

We aim to provide:

  • Interesting and engaging lessons.
  • The opportunity to encounter people from different religious and cultural groups and explore stories, traditions and celebrations from different religions and cultures.
  • visit places of religious significance .
  • use ICT to enhance understanding
  • discuss, question and evaluate important issues in religion and philosophy
  • reflect upon and carefully evaluate their own and others’ beliefs and values using reasoned and balanced arguments
  • use a range of forms of expression to communicate their arguments

When the children leave The Croft Primary School we would like them to:

  • Be prepared and equipped for life and citizenship in today’s diverse Britain.
  • Have an established and growing knowledge and understanding of beliefs, practices, spiritual insights and secular world views.
  • Be open to engaging with the views of others with different beliefs and practices from their own.
  • Respect the cultural diversity in Britain today.
  • Aspire to explore, question and reflect upon their own sense of identity and values and those of others
