It inspires the children’s curiosity to know more about the past and equips them to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments, and develop perspective and judgement. It also helps the children to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups, as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time.

Geography at The Croft provides the children with a means of exploring, appreciating and understanding the world in which we live and how it has evolved. It explores the relationship between the Earth and its people. It stimulates curiosity and imagination and builds upon the child’s ‘personal geography’ by developing geographical skills, understanding and knowledge through studying places and themes. It also encourages children to learn through experience particularly through fieldwork and practical activities.
